Cultivating Access and Belonging in Volunteerism

MAVA's 2025 Cultivating Access and Belonging in Volunteerism Virtual Conference is unlike any other, as it propels you to turn insight into action and drive significant change in your scope of work, the field of volunteerism, and in your community.

This year's theme is Solidarity in Action - We Are Stronger Together πŸ’ͺ🏽πŸ’ͺ🏽

How can you work in solidarity when silos and tunnel vision cloud your ability to prioritize collective workπŸ’‘The answer is you can't!

Our conference workshop sessions will amplify and identify the systems, structures, and ways of thinking that get in the way of building bridges towards collective action and solidarity between organizations, individuals, volunteers, especially in underrepresented and marginalized communities. This conference will unpack strategies and tips on unlearning and relearning how to operate with a lens of intentional collaboration and creating the environment for solidarity to thrive!

The Linking Leaders Leadership Solidarity Community of Practice

The LinkingLeaders Partnership brings over 5,500 leaders across the Twin Cities together to build solidarity, trust, and collaboration. Formed by Tiwahe Foundation, The African-American Leadership Forum, Coalition of Asian-American Leaders, and LatinoLEAD, this cross-racial, cross-cultural effort is expanding what true solidarity looks like.

This community of practice reminds us: "solidarity isn’t just showing up in crisis, it's an everyday practice of trust, care, and accountability".

A member of Linking Leaders, Jaralyn Roberts notes, our liberation is bound together: β€œTrue freedom comes when our communities realize that our power lies in facing the problem together, not facing one another.”

From policy change to community gatherings, LinkingLeaders is proving that our strength is in solidarity- together, locked in. It is our commitment to our community and to the liberation of us collectively. Not just some of us, but all of us!
