White Fragility

Published on 9/5/2019

We are excited to bring in Donte Curtis of Catch your Dream Consulting for our next inclusive Volunteerism Training event on Tuesday; September 24 from 9am-12pm in St. Paul! He will be presenting on "Breaking the Cycle of White Supremacy Culture," an interactive workshop that invites attendees to reflect on the ways dominant culture shows up in each of us and harms the work that we do, along with tools for breaking the cycle . Wondering why this is so important? check out this article out how white supremacy culture can foster workplace discrimination: https://ssir.org/…/en…/the_bias_of_professionalism_standards. This highly interactive workshop on healing from white supremacy culture is very important for all of us who work with volunteers. White supremacy is an issue that we must ALL collectively heal from, while simultaneously trying to break the cycle. We will reflect on how white supremacy harms us individually and organizationally. Participants will come away with antidotes to break the cycle and ultimately recover from white supremacy. This workshop is about healing and not shaming or blaming. Registration is now open - we hope you will join us for this event! Register here
