Position: Volunteer Generation Fund Program Manager
Status: Full-time; exempt.
Reports to: Executive Director

Job Purpose: The Project Manager is a grant funded position responsible for managing MAVA’s contract with ServeMN for Volunteer Generation Fund funding and participation as a national Service Enterprise hub. Service Enterprise is a Points of Light national initiative to strengthen the capacity of nonprofits to fundamentally leverage volunteers and their skills to address community needs through an assessment, training and consultation process. This position is also responsible for coordinating additional grant funded MAVA workshops in the Metro Area and Greater Minnesota and other responsibilities as part of the MAVA staff team. The position is grant funded for expected length of three years. The position is 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage MAVA’s Service Enterprise initiative
• Lead the MAVA delivery of the Points of Light developed Service Enterprise organizational assessment, training curriculum, consultation services and certification process to ensure a successful delivery of the initiative to 10-30 organizations per year.
• Involve other MAVA staff in the Service Enterprise implementation and recruit and support volunteers to provide consultation and assist with implementation.
• Work with our co-Hub leader HandsOn Twin Cities to plan Service Enterprise recruitment of sites, develop training schedule and ensure successful delivery of the initiative.
• Serve as a presenter for Service Enterprise workshops and arrange staff and trainers to present other sections.
• Work with partner organizations to design and deliver online service enterprise curriculum.
• Work individually with the organizations participating in the Service Enterprise initiative to review their assessment results, assist with developing action plans and provide consulting services related to their action plans.
• Recruit organizations to participate in Service Enterprise.
• Facilitate how the Service Enterprise initiative can address MAVA strategic plan goals and advance MAVA’s mission.

2. Provide grant management for the MAVA contract with ServeMN for Volunteer Generation Fund funding.
• Draft grant application and budget for continuation and new federal grants.
• Monitor grant goals and ensure progress to meet grant goals.
• Prepare progress and financial reports for the contract with ServeMinnesota.
• Monitor budget revenue and expenses.

3. Arrange logistics for MAVA Volunteer Impact Leadership Series and skill based volunteerism workshops that are part of the grant funded project.
• Oversee the implementation of workshops.
• Work with local hosts for workshop to plan arrangements and publicity for workshops.
• Arrange MAVA trainers to present workshops and directly present some of the workshops.
• Ensure collection of necessary reporting data from workshop participants, implement follow-up data collections, maintain program evaluation data and compile data for reports.

4. Take responsibility for components of other MAVA initiatives, office work and projects as assigned.

• Three to five years of demonstrated experience in managing volunteer programs.
• Proven ability as an engaging presenter and trainer.
• Experience working with federal grant funded projects and doing grant reporting and budgeting.
• Experience with grant financial management and preparing grant financial reports
• Experience working with national funding sources
• Project management experience.
• Ability to successfully manage competing priorities and complex projects.
• Experience with event and/or workshop planning. Experience with consulting and quality assurance
• Completion of MAVA’s Certificate in Leadership of Volunteers or completion of other volunteer management training
• Ability to represent MAVA to the public and to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with a wide variety of outside agencies, organizations, and partners
• Excellent oral and written communication, attention to detail and work organizational skills
• Strong computer skills and competent with Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Valid Driver’s License and vehicle available for travel in Metro area and Greater Minnesota
• Bachelor’s degree in related field.
